What's Your Listing Status?

Before we head into a busy spring season, we wanted to take this opportunity to clarify a few things on a topic that affects us all - Status Changes. The accuracy of our MLS depends on the care and attention we all place on entering and updating our listings. In short - we're all counting on each other!

Status Changes: The Basics

Following the merger of HGMLS and MLSLI, some of the status terminology changed, and so we created this short video to help explain the key differences: 

"Temporarily Off the Market"

Realtors® often ask for more information regarding Temporarily Off the Market (TOM). According to the OneKey® MLS Rules & Procedures, Rule 404.3 states that when a listing cannot be shown for three (3) or more days (72 hours or more), the listing status MUST be changed to TOM. It is considered an inactive listing and it may remain TOM indefinitely until it Expires.

"Violating the "Temporarily Off the Market" rule can result in an automatic fine being levied of a minimum of $250. I want to stress to our Participants and Subscribers the requirement to receive instructions in writing from the owner to remove a home from the market even temporarily and that those instructions be made available to any cooperating broker requesting a copy of the instructions. This is a very useful feature for everyone when used properly."
